Injustice Met With Accountability and Change
A journal reflection, kept close to its original back-and-forth — a private prompt met with a direct answer, the way it actually happened.
Reason: Political Injustice. As someone who values both justice and mercy in alignment with Catholic social teaching, how do you find yourself processing these complex emotions about societal accountability? What helps you maintain your spiritual center when confronting such challenging issues?
ResponseI feel that injustice should be met with accountability, whether through enforcement or personal acknowledgement and change. When neither occurs, I ground myself in patience, hopefulness, and advocating for change by being outspoken.
Given your role as a Literary Philosopher and your commitment to precision in language, how do you feel this type of clear, direct commentary on justice serves your broader mission of creating change? Does writing these pieces help you process your own feelings about systemic injustice?
ResponseI provided actionable insight that fuels my outspoken personality. My feelings are processed by putting pen to paper, so to speak.
Would you say this process of writing — whether about personal boundaries or systemic justice — helps you maintain that balance between being "focused, clear, and task-driven" while still remaining true to your emotional truth?
ResponseYes.
Given that you're in a reflective space today, would you like to explore another aspect of what's on your mind, or would you prefer to sit with these thoughts for now?
ResponseI can sit with these thoughts for now.
